Are you working on an innovative project at your agency? Have a great idea to revolutionize government?

If so, you should enter to become one of our five lightning speakers at the 2014 Next Generation of Government Training Summit — the premiere training event for Generation X & Y government leaders, hosted by Young Government Leaders (YGL) and GovLoop.

This is your chance to share your 5-minute story in front of 500+ government leaders and be onstage with some of the most innovative and inspirational government employees and supporters.

Submitting your entry is easy. All you have to do is fill out this form. You will be asked to provide the following information:
•Full name, title and organization
•Contact information
•Title of your talk
•150-200 word description of your talk
•100 word short biography

Here are a few lightning talks from years past:
“Creating a Culture of Reflective Leadership”
“A Journey into Blindness”
“Nature 3.0”

This is a nationwide competition for individuals who are making change happen in government. They continuously strive to push boundaries and enhance collaboration, efficiency, and effectiveness within public service. The form in its entirety must be completed to be eligible for the contest.

Additionally, in order to effectively deliver your speech, you must be present during the time slot of your lightning talk at NextGen. NextGen takes place July 24-25 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA. Registration will be waived for the day you are presenting. Unfortunately, travel and stay are not provided by the summit coordinators; but registration fees will be waived.

The NextGen contest committee will be accepting submissions from March 10th to March 20th, 2014. The finalists will be announced on April 2nd. From April 2nd to April 18th, the NextGen community can vote for who they’d like to hear speak at the summit. The five winners will be determined through a mixture of votes and contest committee rankings, and will be announced on April 30th.

In summary, here are the important dates:

Speaker Entries Accepted: March 10 – March 20
Voting: April 2 – April 18
Winners announced: April 30
