According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Millennials—who compose the majority of young government leaders—are expected to make up 40 percent of the U.S. workforce by 2020. That’s less than seven years away! In addition, the Office of Personnel Management reported that twice as many new retirement claims as expected have been filed by baby boomers this year. By 2014, fifty-three percent of federal workers will be eligible to retire, and they already seem to be doing so at an alarming rate.
